August is upon us, and as I've been reading my favorite foodie blogs I've noticed a common theme: everyone is hot and there is quite a bit of cooking "malaise" out there. Who can blame us? When it's hot the thought of firing up the stove is not pleasant. Barbecuing is a great option, but after 2 or 3 months, it can get downright dull.
Apparently, Grace, over at A Southern Grace feels the same way! She came up with a great event called:
You can read more about Beat the Heat on her site, which, for those of you who haven't seen it, is terrific. She's got a great whit and some kick ass recipes to go along with it. It's become a regular read of mine and I love it.
Anyway, the basics are coming up with a recipe that involves NO COOKING, no stove, no oven, no BBQ, no microwave, in other words, NO HEAT!
LOVE IT!
Here's my contribution. It's an oldie but a goodie folks...
Tsadziki
I love this dish. It's cool and clean, easy to make and quite versatile! Use it as a dip, spread it in a pita pocket with grilled meat, or just eat it as a salad. It sooo yummy!
Here is the original post if you'd like the recipe.
Thanks to Grace, for a great event, for a great blog, and for being one of the first bloggers to read my site regularly. I so appreciate the support.
So, click on over to Grace's site and get your entry in for Beat the Heat!
Yummy! This does beat the heat!

It's funny you should post this because my coworker from Iran just told me about this delisch recipe and my other coworker from India just gave me a gracious bag of mint. I just know I will love this dip!
